Let's tell him he should get a job

Mrs.Watson: Paul doesn't want to go graduate school,but maybe he should.

Mr.Watson: What do you think he ought to take up?

Mrs.Watson: Maybe law would be a good idea.

Mr.Watson: I'd like another professor in the house myself.

Mrs.Watson: Well,really we can't tell him what to do in any case.

Mr.Watson: No,no. We can't force him and we shouldn't try to.

Mrs.Watson: He wouldn't listen to us. You know that.

Mr.Watson: He always does the opposite of what we suggest,right?

Mrs.Watson: Right.

Mr.Watson: So,let's tell him he should get a job,and then he'll want to go on to graduate school.

Mrs.Watson: You're pretty clever,aren't you?

Mr.Watson: Did you just realize that?
