2015年3月26日, 固特异中国的首家研究开发中心正式启动，这家业界的研发中心坐落于固特异全球最先进的普兰店工厂。该研发中心的成立将助力固特异拓展在亚太区的业务能力提升，尤其是面向中国的汽车制造商，加快高品质、高性能轮胎的研发速度和效率。
新成立的中国研发中心，是固特异全球创新网络中的一个重要组成部分，将进一步增强固特异在全球轮胎行业创新中的领导地位。研发中心的启动，还能为固特异在中国参与更多全新的配套业务提供有力支持，包括新能源汽车。
目前固特异中国研究开发中心的结构工程师及材料工程师岗位空缺，正在寻找合适的候选人。详细信息如下：
Construction Engineer
Primary Purpose of the Position (List key objectives):
Develop, validate and implement new tire products using experimental & predictive approaches in interactions with others functions / departments
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Product development and improvement:
-Uses tire engineering design standards to develop new products and support Applied and Functional projects
-Supports implementation of new products in production and maintenance activities
-Improves and enhances problem solving strategies
2. Process:
-Understand, follow and apply the Global Design standards
-Makes improvements to or enhances current processes and tools within functional group
3. Technology:
-Implement latest technologies in product development to ensure premium performance
-Improves and enhance documentation of the created knowledge
4. Standards:
-Ensure product conformity to internal, external and legal standards
-Knows, improves and enhance design guidelines/standards and best practices
Qualifications：
1. Master degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
2. Product Design Experience.
3. Manufacturing Experience.
4. Lean , 6 sigma experience
5. Familiarity with commercial software like CATIA
6. Desired project management experience
7. Must to have good knowledge of CAD (preferred software Catia V5)
8. MS Office (World, Excel, Power Point)
9. VBA, SAP & statistical tools are an asset
10. Team player and good communicator
11. Proactive and result driven
12. Sense of responsibility & urgency
13. Stress resistant & flexible
14. Showing initiative / Being proactive
15. Willing to travel occasionally
16. Fluent in Chinese & English

Material Engineer
Primary Purpose of the Position (List key objectives):
The highly motivated and hands-on associate is to identify and develop new material technologies that address current and future business needs from our Compounding Technology – Consumer team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for high performance application development. The associate will be responsible for developing new tire components which demonstrate performance in tire applications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Developing tire components for optimal performance while considering cost and environment
2. Designing laboratory studies to evaluate material technologies, and interpreting the results based on the underlying chemistry and physics of the materials being studied
3. Provide onsite assistance during plant trials as required
4. Effective communication and collaboration with design teams, customers, and manufacturing to ensure successful development and technology transfer
Qualifications：
1. Master degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry , Materials or Polymer Science.
2. PhD degree in Chemistry , Materials or Polymer Science is desired
3. Several years of experience in elastomeric applications is preferred
4. Experience in understanding structure/property relationships in materials is preferred
5. Familiarity with polymers, fillers, and/or reinforced composites is required
6. Proficiency in the statistical design and analysis of experimental data is required
7. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams will be required
8. Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills will be required
9. Open minded, optimistic, and collaborative with a strong sense of urgency
