Job Description Software Engineer – Enterprise Switch (Shanghai, China)

Cisco EBBU Introduction Enterprise Backbone BU(EBBU) develops industry leading Catalyst 6500 data cent er switches. EBBU team at Cisco China Research and Development Center, Shangha i, China, concentrates on next-generation System Engineering developments for Cat6K. EBBU is a new name for previous ISBU.

Job Description Software development on Ciscos enterprise switch product. Job involves some of the following tasks: C programming in an embedded software environment, dia gnostic tests or firmware development on Catalyst 6500 product – requires str ong OS skills, router/switch data forwarding background (L2, L3) desired.

Requirements 1 Must have strong C programming skills and strong debugging skills 2 Must have embedded real-time OS/system skills, or Linux or Unix development experience 3 Hi-end networking switch/router SW development experience is a plus 4 Strong debugging skills (GDB or register/memory level debugging is a plus 5 Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with hardware, software, ASIC engineers, and customer support engineers. Must spea k fluent English. 6 Must be comfortable with large-scale team-based SW development and frequent inter-group/company communication. 7 Working knowledge of version control system such as CVS or Clearcase 8 Must be able to work for 3 days/week for at least 12 months

Educational Background 1st or 2nd year of Master of EE/CE/CS student with related project or work ex perience. 1st year preferable.
