HP Labs China (http://www.hpl.hp.com/china/) is now seeking global top talents to fill multiple internship positions in two research areas: (1) networking, and (2) information and data analysis.
We are looking for exceptionally talented students in Computer Science or related disciplines. Students from China, North America, Europe and other parts of the world who are passionate about working on challenging research problems are encouraged to apply. The selected students will work with HP Labs researchers to conduct fundamental and applied research in the two research areas.
Research areas include (but are not limited to):
(1) Networking
o High-performance networking algorithms (requiring good skills in C programming language, data structure and algorithms)
o P2P and CDN network
o Network measurement, monitoring and traffic classification
o Web acceleration (compressing, caching…)
o Mobile networks, systems, and applications
o Enterprise and datacenter networks
o Wireless mesh, ad hoc, and sensor networks
o Network security
(2) Information and Data Analysis
o Information extraction
o Information retrieval
o Data mining
o Data management in the cloud
o Distributed and parallel processing
o Database systems
For students from China, the internship is for at least 6 months. Work schedule could be flexible based on the students availability. Overseas students are encouraged to apply for full-time intern positions for at least three months.
