Department Description Philips Lighting has been one of the key business pillars in the 120 years history of Royal Philips Electronics Group. At the Global Development Centre in Shanghai, hundreds of highly qualified engineers are developing high quality products at the right cost levels, to meet future market needs. Significant resources are allocated to LED system developments.
Your challenge In the context of this internship project the candidate will study the reliability aspects of LED devices and modules. Aiming to improve understanding LED reliability, the sub-topics of this project include, but not limited to: investigating the failure modes and mechanisms, designing, implementing and verifying accelerated tests, interpreting test results to the reliability performance under use conditions, etc.
Your assignment The project consists of a few phases: An introductory phase including literature study; determining the sub-topics to focus on; designing the experimental set-up & conditions; data collection and analysis; developing and verifying reliability models. There will be room for your own initiatives. And a final presentation and reporting are part of this project. Publication and IP generation are both encouraged.

Your Profile You are a technically oriented person, currently studying towards your Masters degree in the area of: Physics / Electronics / (materials or mechanical) Engineering.
